Carmen J. Bernardo, age 49, of Glasgow, DE passed away on Wednesday, June 14, 2017 at Christiana Hospital.
He graduated from Middletown High School in 1986 and earned an associate's degree in Computer Science from Delaware Technical Community College in 2000.
Carmen was an avid reader, especially world history. He was a self-taught cartoonist and would draw a caricature of himself on the cards he would give to his nieces, nephew and others. He also enjoyed fishing and kayaking in area waters. He was a big NASCAR fan, watching as many of the races he could, in any of the divisions.
Carmen was predeceased by his mother Linda Sue (Haynes) Bernardo. He is survived by his father Richard, his sister Theresa Lyn Brooks (Steve) of Ormand Beach, FL, his brother Peter J. Bernardo of Elkton, MD, his nieces Natalie and Sarah Brooks and nephew Davis Brooks.
A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, June 20, 2017 at 11:00 am in the Chapel at Gracelawn Memorial Park, 2220 N Dupont Hwy, New Castle, DE 19720. The Visitation will begin at 10:00 am. Burial will follow the service in the adjoining cemetery.
