Daniel J. Maccari, age 59, of Bear, DE passed away on Monday March 7th, 2016 at home surrounded by his loving family.

Dan was a 40 year member of Local 313. He was a passionate dog lover and enjoyed nothing more than a glass of wine and his Rottweiler Ernie. An avid cyclist Dan participated in the "Bike to the Bay" annual event. When Dan wasn't in Bear, he spent his free time at Dewey Beach and could always be found on a stool at the Starboard.

Daniel is predeceased by his parents Mildred and Antonio Maccari.

Mr. Maccari is survived by his wife Alice, daughter Kathryn, his two brothers Mark (Carrie) and Anthony (Crystal), and numerous nephews and nieces.

The family would like to give special thanks to Delaware Hospice, especially Alice and Erica for their compassionate and dedicated care.

A visitation will be held on Friday March 11th, 2016 from 6 to 9 PM at Beeson Funeral Home, 2053 Pulaski Hwy, Newark, DE 19702. The burial will be private. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to the education fund for Kathryn, PNC Bank 250 Fox Hunt Dr, Bear, DE 19701
