Mrs. Hazel Winder, age 93, of Newark passed away peacefully at home on December 28, 2016.

She was born in Wilmington in1923 to Harry and Lillian Krauss and grew up in the Rockford Park area with her sisters Lillian and Emma. As a young woman, she was employed by Bancroft Mills. In 1948 she married Warren and started a family eventually moving to Claymont and residing there for over 20 years before moving to Newark. She was an excellent homemaker and enjoyed trips with her husband attending Army reunions across the United States.

Hazel was preceded in death by her husband Warren, daughter Winifred Hill, and her sister, Emma Ainsworth.

She is survived by her son, Warren and his wife Kathy, grandchildren David Hill, Amber Hill, Warren Winder, and Jake Winder, and her sister Lillian Taylor.

A Funeral Service will be held on Friday January 6, 2017 at 9:30 am at Beeson Funeral Home, 2053 Pulaski Highway, Newark DE 19702 where friends may visit beginning at 8:30 am. The Committal Service will be held on Friday at 11:00 am at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 2465 Chesapeake City Rd, Bear, DE 19701.
