James R. Hannum, age 58, of Bear, Delaware, passed away peacefully at home on December 21, 2016 with his partner and soulmate by his side. Jimmy was born on June 12, 1958 in Wilmington, DE.
Jimmy graduated from Chichester High School and Aston Vocational Technical School in 1976. Afterward, Jimmy served in the Army National Guard for 6 years as a Ballistics Machinist. He then worked for Horizon Services, Inc. for 16 years as part of the Installation Crew.
Jimmy enjoyed fishing, boating, crabbing and kicking back in Rock Hall, Maryland. He enjoyed spending time with friends and family in Rock Hall; grilling on the barbeque and chilling while listening to country and 70s rock music.
Jimmy is survived by his partner and soulmate of 17 years, two children and two step-children, brothers and sisters, grandchildren, and many adoring nieces and nephews.
Services are private and will be held at 12:00 on December 30, 2016. Please consult with the family for the location. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Beef and Beer Benefit for James R. Hannum that will be held on January 15, 2017 at the Christiana Pub – 10 West Main St., Newark, DE 19702, 302-731-9077.
