Josephine "Jo-Ell" (Unruh) Malloy, age 74 of Bear, DE passed away July 25, 2017 at home surrounded by her loving children after a short and courageous battle with cancer.

Jo-Ell was a graduate of Middletown High School, class of 1960. She started her career at the University of Delaware, January 7, 1970. She was a key person in both the Census and Data System and later in the Center of Applied Demography & Survey Research. She played a significant role in both the desegregation of schools in New Castle County in 1978 and the reappointment of the General Assembly in 1980. She retired from the University of Delaware after 36 years on June 30, 2006, but periodically returned to handle important parts of their on-going research program.

Jo-Ell was the Membership Director for the Wilmington Ski Club for many years and organizer of the DE Singles / DE Boomer Club. She enjoyed the beach, skiing, card games, club events, spending time with her many friends and most of all traveling. She was blessed with the opportunity to visit many of the states and 31 countries. Her favorite of which was Italy.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, John "Jay" Malloy and Al "Hardy" Price, her parents Bill and Billie Unruh, and brothers Billy and Delbert Unruh.
She is survived by son Ricky Price, daughters Holly Zeoli and Sherry Nechay, grandchildren Ricky and Rachel Price, Philip (Michael) Sulecki and Scott (Amanda) Nechay, Paige Sulecki (grand dog Beau) and Zachary Zeoli, great granddaughter Madison Nechay, brothers Tom (June) Unruh, Covey (Becky) Unruh, sister Martha (Larry) McDowell and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and her best friend since fourth grade, Patsy Warner.

A Visitation will be held at 4:00 pm at Beeson Funeral Home, 2053 Pulaski Highway, Newark, DE 19702 on Tuesday August 1, 2017. The Funeral Service will begin at 6:00 pm at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, mom asks for you to give flowers to someone you love, while they are still with you.
