Josephine Thomas (1930-2016) Josie, 85, passed away on February 15 in Bear, DE, in the presence of her immediate family.

She was born in Chicago, Illinois, graduating from Kelly High School. She spent her adult life in Chicago, Bradenton, FL and Bear, DE. Josie worked for and retired from Sears Roebuck & Co., and volunteered for Blake Hospital in Bradenton, FL. Josephine recently celebrated 60 years of a loving marriage to her husband Jerome in 2015.
She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother and will be missed by all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her sisters, Katherine, Polly, Ann, and Mary.

Josephine is survived by her husband, Jerome; her four children, Marilyn Berman of Bear, DE, Carolyn and her husband Richard DeMont of Bear, DE, Susan Baker of Houston, TX, Anthony Thomas of Hickory Hills, IL; and her sister, Helen of Garden Grove, CA., five grandchildren, Samuel, Daniel, and Mary of Houston and Robert of New York and Andrew of Delaware. A Graveside service will be held on Tuesday, February 23, 2016 at 10:00 at Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
