Maxine Kuzelka Baumert, age 94, of Wilmington, DE passed away on Wednesday February 8, 2017.
Mrs. Baumert graduated from Howells High School in Nebraska. She earned an associates degree from the University of Nebraska and a Business Degree from Chillicothe Missouri Business College.
Maxine was a homemaker and was married for over 65 years to her husband Robert H. Baumert. Maxine was a passionate Duke basketball and Philadelphia Phillies fan. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, and a member for over 40 years of the Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish in Wilmington where she served on the Altar Society and the Social Concerns committees. Maxine was a former President of the St. Francis Hospital Junior Board.
Mrs. Baumert was predeceased by her husband Robert H. Baumert, her granddaughter Lisa Friedman, her sister-in-law Lucille Kuzelka and her parents Joseph and Lillie Kuzelka.
Maxine is survived by her children, Rodney (Mary) Baumert of Reading, PA; Susan (Robert) Friedman of Newark, DE; Judith (David) Jones of Allentown, PA; Robert (Madalyn) Baumert of Allentown, PA; and Patricia (William) Brencher of Lumberton, NJ. She is also survived by her nine grandchildren, Jennifer, Richard, Loren, Christopher, Melissa, Valerie, Alison, Emily, and Michelle, six great grandchildren and her brother Joseph Kuzelka of York, Nebraska.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held on Friday, February 17, 2017 at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church with burial in Wilmington, Delaware. In lieu of flowers please make donations to St. Francis Junior Board, 7th and Clayton Streets, Wilmington DE 19805.
