Raymond Lee Holder, Jr., age 91, of Newark formerly of Dansville, VA died on Saturday April 23rd, 2016.

Ray served in the Navy for six years, during which he was stationed in Hawaii and fought in the Battle of Pearl Harbor. Mr. Holder served on the Ward and Wilson destroyers during World War II. Ray served in the Civil Air Patrol as a lieutenant colonel for 25 years. Ray worked for Delmarva Power as an engineer. He was an active member in the High Noon Masonic Lodge.

Raymond is predeceased by his daughter Cheryl Kemp, his two grandsons Michael and Cody Ohrt.

Mr. Holder is survived by his wife Marlyn, his two daughters Cindy (Mike) Ohrt and Robin (Joe) Twardus, his son Raymond Lee Holder III (Joan), his son-in-law Jim Kemp, granddaughter Michele Potts (Vaughn), grandson Chris Holder, and beloved friend Ezra Carr. Raymond is also survived by his brother Gene Holder and sister Alice Williams.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday April 27th, 2016 from 6 to 8 PM at Beeson Funeral Home, 2053 Pulaski Highway, Newark, DE, 19702. The Funeral Service will be held on Thursday April 28th, 2016 at 10 AM at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 2465 Chesapeake City Rd, Bear, DE 19701.
