Robert L. Bouwkamp, Jr., son of Robert and Loretta Bouwkamp, Sr., was a proud Delawarean, born in Wilmington. A 1979 graduate of Hodgson Vocational Technical High School, he served as a Loadmaster in the United States Air Force from 1980 – 1984 where he continued his education as he traveled all over the world.
While in the service he met his future wife Rosie, a Jersey girl, the love of his life. Together they enjoyed gardening, skiing, camping and fishing. He felt happiest with nature and closer to God when he was working outdoors. "Uncle Bob" enjoyed many gatherings, especially holidays with his family. He led the pack during the annual Easter Egg Hunts at his parent's home.
He was employed by Robert C. Peoples, Inc. as a Master Carpenter and Cabinetmaker for 23 years.
Bob is survived by his wife Rosie, his parents, Robert and Loretta Bouwkamp, sister Michelle Gehrmann, brother John and his wife, Gail, nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life will be held Friday, October 28, 2016 at Beeson Funeral Home, 2053 Pulaski Highway, Bear, DE at 8:00 p.m. where friends may call between 6:00 and 8:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Wilmington VA Medical Center, 1601 Kirkwood Highway, Wilmington, DE 19805 or Christiana Fire Company, 2. East Main Street, Christiana, DE 19702.
