Robin Marie Varnes, age 55, was called home on Tuesday, October 4, 2016 peacefully surrounded by her family after a brave battle against breast cancer. Robin's utmost happiness was her marriage to the love of her life, Ed, whom she cherished and nurtured for thirty six years. As devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, Robin's greatest pride and joy was her nine children and six grandchildren. Robin had an unwavering, unconditional love for her children which they emulate by remaining an incredibly close and tight knit family. Her children will carry on her testament of love and faithfulness in her honor. Robin's heart centered around her family and she drew great joy from her many vacations with them to Disney World and Maine. In addition to raising her children, Robin used her passion for feeding and serving children as the cafeteria manager at Howard Vocational Technical High School. Robin was a humble woman known for her sweet, loving and warm disposition, and she always put others before herself. Her life is a testimony of service to others. As a woman of strong faith, Robin always trusted and confided in the Lord for all that she did and it was evident in the way that she raised her children. She loved to fellowship with the parishioners of the Word to the Bride Tabernacle in New Castle, Delaware where she attended for 32 years. Robin will be missed by all that knew her. Robin is survived by her husband Edward, her nine children, Rebecca Wampler, Andrea Verucci, Dorothy Ursaki, Aaron Varnes, Emily Varnes, David Varnes, Sarah Varnes, Stephen Varnes and Abigail Varnes, as well as her six grandchildren, Andrew Lofland, Joseph Wampler, Anya Verucci, Noah Verucci, Ian Varnes and Benjamin Varnes. Robin was proceeded in death by her beloved mother Virginia, her father Joseph, her brother Joey, and her sister Mary Ann. Funeral services will be held at Beeson Funeral Home on Saturday, October 8, 2016, with visitation at 9:30 a.m. and service at 11:00 a.m. The burial will follow at Glebe Cemetery in New Castle.
