Ronald Hickey, of Bear, Delaware, passed away Wednesday, June 22nd, surrounded by his loving family, after battling Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma.

CW4 Ronald Hickey served in the US Army and was a veteran of the Vietnam War, in which he served numerous tours. He was highly decorated and received numerous awards including the Bronze Star and Vietnamese Cross of Gallantry with Palm, and many others.

After retiring from the US Army, Ron had a very successful second career with General Dynamics as a Site Manager for their Land Systems department.
Ron grew up in the Lancaster, PA area and lived with his family in Kentucky, Germany, Oxford, PA and Yuma, AZ. Every home that Ron made for his family was filled with wonderful experiences and precious memories.

Ron loved fishing, golf, gardening, boating, the beach, grilling, working on cars, he mostly enjoyed those times spent with family. He was extremely compassionate, giving, honest, loyal, and had a great sense of humor. He will be missed dearly.

Ronald was predeceased by his parents Jerome and Anna Hickey of Lancaster, PA and his sister Theresa Greiner.

Mr. Hickey is survived by the love of his life, his wife of 49 years, Patchanee (Thongplee), their children; Anthony Hickey of Lancaster, PA, his wife Diane Wesner, Madonna Hickey of Newark, DE, her wife Deborah Summa, Dorina Palmer of Bear, DE, her husband Troy, the extended Thai children, Noi Chantarin of Lancaster, PA his wife Pawn, Nit Chantarin of Lancaster, PA and his wife Gill and Ning Chantarin of Bangkok, Thailand. His cherished grandchildren, Pawnpun "Boppie" Chantarin, Tom Hess, Gabbi Palmer, Caila Hickey, Pawnpana "Nina" Chantarin, Connor Hickey and Teddy Palmer. . He is survived by his sister Mary Jane Toomey and her husband John of Lancaster, PA and many nieces and nephews.

A viewing will be held Thursday, June 30th, from 8-9am at Beeson Funeral Home 2053 Pulaski Hwy, Newark, DE 19702. A Committal Service will be held on Thursday June 30th at 10 AM at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 2465 Chesapeake City Road, Bear, DE.

APPROPRIATE ATTIRE IS REQUIRED. MUTED COLORS ONLY. SEMI FORMAL ATTIRE (preferably BLACK)

An Honorary Luncheon will follow at White Clay Creek Country Club, The Veranda Room, 777 Delaware Park Blvd., Wilmington, DE.
