Stephanie Trush Sclavos, age 89, passed away on Sunday, November 20, 2016.
Stephanie, known to her family and friends as "Stell", was the daughter of the late Phillip Trush and Mary Malinowski Trush.
Stephanie was a 1944 graduate of Chesapeake City High School. Upon graduating she worked at Dravo Shipyard as a clerk typist. From 1945 to 1954, she was employed at WiImington Auto Sales(now W. H. Porter, Inc.) as a receptionist and clerk typist. In 1954 Stephanie married John A. Sclavos and joined John, his sister and their father in owning and operating the Glasgow Arms Restaurant in Newark, DE.
Stephanie was a loving and devoted wife and mother. She was a kind and selfless person. She always put the needs of others before her own.
Stephanie is survived by her children: Mary Ann Bilson of Rising Sun, MD, Catherine A. Sturgeon and fiance' David M. Streets of Elkton, MD, Stephen C. Sclavos and his wife Brenda of Elkton, MD; sister-in-law Mary S. Murphy of Newark, DE; grandchildren: Michael Bilson, Anthony Bilson, Jennifer Parrish, Paul Sclavos, Jr., Matthew Sclavos, Stephanie Sturgeon and Karissa Uetz; and 10 great- grandchildren, and one great- great grandchild. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John A. Sclavos, Sr, sons John A. Sclavos, Jr and Paul Q. Sclavos, Sr.; brothers, Harry Trush, William Trush, John Trush; sisters, Anna Trush, Catherine Di Girolamo, Pauline Baran and Mary Narcisso.
Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at Noon on Wednesday, November 30, 2016 at St. Margaret of Scotland Catholic Church, 2431 Frazer Road, Newark, DE. 19702, where visitation will begin at 11:00. Interment will follow at All Saints Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations in Stephanie's memory to Saint Margaret of Scotland Catholic Church at the above address.
