Tom Hogenmiller, of Bear, Delaware, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 9, 2017 at Seasons Hospice with his devoted wife, Christine, at his side. He was born in Erie, PA, to Aloysius and Margaret Hogenmiller. He joined the Merchant Marines at the start of World War II and honorably served his country for eight years. He spent his entire working career in the transportation industry starting with Associated Transport in New York City where he met his wife. He worked for several other trucking companies located near Chicago, Jackson, Michigan and finally for Preston Trucking Co. in Salisbury, Maryland before retiring. Tom loved to play golf and enjoyed spending time at the beach.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister and brothers. He is survived by his wife, Christine, of 45 years; his brother, Richard (Alice) of Phoenix, Arizona, and his nephews Richie and Randy.

The family would like to thank the staff at Seasons Hospice for their caring and loving way in taking care of Tom.

A Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 15, 2017 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Beeson Funeral Home, 2053 Pulaski Highway, Newark DE 19702. The Committal Service for burial will take place on Thursday, March 16, 2017 at 11:00 am at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 2465 Chesapeake City Rd, Bear, DE 19701.
