Vance F. Bowers, Jr., age 66 of Bear, DE died at his home on Wednesday May 24, 2017.

Vance attended Oxford area schools and graduated with a B.A. from Lincoln University in 1973. He worked for the Federal Government in the 1970's. Vance worked for Herr's Foods for the past 34 years, in the sales department as a District Manager and finally working as a Reset Specialist.

Vance was predeceased by his parents, Helen and Vance Bowers, sister Judith A. Boddy and brother Steven A. Bowers.

He is survived by Kip, his wife of 31 years, daughter Victoria of Pennsylvania, niece Traci Boddy and nephew Christian Backus, both of Delaware; sisters-in-law Kim and Klaudette and his mother-in-law, Ruby K. Vance also leaves behind many loving aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

The viewing will be held on Wednesday June 7, 2017 at 6 pm followed by funeral service at 7 pm at BEESON FUNERAL HOME, 2053 Pulaski Highway, Bear. Burial will be in Philadelphia Memorial Park, Frazer, PA on Friday June 9, 2017 at 2 pm.
